Travis Kelce had a heartfelt message for Jason Kelce over the incident with a Penn State fan

Jason Kelce smashed a Penn State fan's phone on Saturday after the fan directed a homophobic slur toward his brother and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. He apologized for his actions Monday night during the ESPN broadcast Monday night countdown.

A contrite Kelce in an episode of New heights which aired on Wednesday, continued to express regret for his actions.

“My reaction gave him exposure and also brought publicity to the situation,” Kelce said. “That’s what I regret. It doesn't deserve any attention. It's really stupid and if I just move on… It's a nothing burger. Nobody sees it. Now it’s out there and it’s just perpetuating more hate.”

Kelce further stated that he regretted saying the homophobic slur toward the fan, adding that the male Nittany Lions fan got under his skin.

But Travis Kelce, who praised his brother's handling of the consequences of the situation, also defended him.

“I know it’s bothering you, bro,” Kelce said. “S–t shit. You shouldn't feel so much… Obviously the scrutiny and the media perception… And anyone who shares the videos that are out there. This will make the situation a bigger situation than me.” Think about what it really is.

“But the real situation is that some damn clown came up to you and talked about your family and you responded in a way that defended your family. And you may have used some words that you regret using. And that's a situation where you just have to learn from it and make it your own.

“And I think that you owning it and talking about it shows how sincere you are to a lot of people in this world.”
