Florida man arrested in connection with fraud investigation in Paducah, Kentucky.

PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) – A Florida man was arrested Friday in Paducah, Kentucky in connection with a credit card fraud investigation.

Paducah police said a local bank notified them around noon on Nov. 1 that a person was illegally accessing accounts through local ATMs.

While speaking with bank employees, officers learned that someone was actively using a fraudulent ATM card at a business on Irvin Cobb Drive.

Officers found 39-year-old Vern T. Fulton at an ATM in the store, with numerous counterfeit bank cards in his name, a credit card scanner and more than $1,000 in cash.

Investigators learned that Fulton stole bank account information for multiple accounts and then transferred the encrypted information to cards that he used to withdraw money from those accounts.

Fulton was arrested for first-degree unauthorized access to a computer, second-degree forgery and using a scanning device to obtain payment card information. He was then taken to the McCracken County Jail.
