Dog's reaction to arrival at daycare goes viral: 'Get out of the way'

Dog day care is often a godsend for dogs depending on their personality and temperament, but those who enjoy it also love it. Some might even call her love for these places obsessive, or at least that's what one dog proved in a viral video.

A Facebook video shared by user Lillian Lew on October 16 shows a Boston Terrier arriving at a dog daycare in New Mexico. Anticipating what the dog would do, a person in a car began filming while another person got him out of the vehicle. He held the dog in the air as they waited for an employee to open the gate. But the dog couldn't wait a second longer.

He writhed in his owner's arms, trying to free himself because he knew exactly where he was – his favorite place in the world. The owner didn't put him down immediately, which only resulted in the dog flailing and kicking his legs even more. When the dog daycare gate opened, he was released and flew away. He couldn't get in fast enough.

The text in the video reads: “POV: You'd rather be at doggy daycare than anywhere else.”

A staff member seemed equally excited to welcome him back. She crouched down and greeted him with a huge hug, to which he responded by covering her face with kisses.

Newsweek asked Lillian Lew for comment.

The hilarious Facebook reel had over 3.4 million views, 109,000 likes and 943 comments as of Wednesday.

“He said, 'Get out of the way of my girl over there,'” joked one user.

Another pointed out: “I love that he didn’t even look back. For example: 'Bye, Dad, we'll see you later!'”

A third person said: “This is a good sign that the dog daycare staff treat the dogs really well.”

Several people shared that their dogs had similar reactions.

“My dog ​​feels the same way!” one person said. “He's calm and chilling in the car, but as soon as we get to the daycare he's incredibly excited.” It makes me happy to know he's doing well.

Pros and Cons of Dog Day Care

Doggy day care can be an excellent choice for owners who want to provide their puppies with additional socialization or if they go to the office and don't want their fur baby to be left home alone. But before you give him away, consider the pros and cons as well as your dog's personality.

Some dogs, especially those who are anxious, may not be suitable for day care. They may become overstimulated and stressed, a Rover article reported. Your dog could also develop an illness like kennel cough after a visit to doggy daycare. It could also encourage bad habits, whether around other dogs who are not trained or if the place allows them to run around indoors.
