A Rochester man has been arrested in a sting operation targeting online predators

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — After an 11-week investigation, 48-year-old Joseph Solak of Rochester was arrested and charged with four felonies.

According to the Rochester Police Department, the arrest followed a proactive undercover operation targeting online predators attempting to entice minors to engage in sexual conduct.

RPD said the investigation revealed that Solak used another person's persona and photo and exchanged messages with an investigator posing as a juvenile female.

Solak is charged with inciting a child (or a child believed to be a child) to engage in sexual conduct through electronic communication, engaging in electronic communication that refers to or describes sexual conduct with a child , soliciting a child to engage in a prohibited sexual act, and stalking – serious offenses – through false impersonation.
