Three of them face drug charges after a two-month investigation in Walton County

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. – The Walton County Sheriff's Office says three people are facing drug charges following a two-month investigation.

The Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at 44 Angel Lane in Santa Rosa Beach, according to a news release. Investigators found fentanyl and methamphetamine, nearly $3,000 in cash and nine firearms.

Based on this search warrant, these three were arrested:

Christian Michael Weafer, 34

  • Trafficking in fentanyl over 28 grams
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Aggravated theft of a firearm
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Daisy May Sherman, 28

  • Trafficking in fentanyl over 28 grams
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Joshua Michael Melcher, 46

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Officers said they discovered through a serial number search that one of the guns had been reported stolen out of Okaloosa County.

“Sherman is a convicted felon in Operation Mr. Clean, an 18-month investigation focused on taking down a massive drug trafficking operation in Walton County that concluded in November 2020,” WCSO says. “She was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.”

According to the sheriff's office, if found guilty, Weafer and Sherman face a minimum sentence of 25 years for trafficking more than 28 grams of fentanyl.
