Jason Kelce reveals what he regrets most about the Penn State fan incident

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce wants to put the heated argument between him and a fan on Saturday behind him.

Kelce was seen video walking after his appearance on ESPN's “College GameDay” and was filmed by several people.

A man in a video of Kelce shouted, “Hey Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a f***ing dude dating Taylor Swift?”

The 37-year-old turned around, took the phone from the person's hand and threw it to the ground. Then Kelce picked up the phone and walked away with it.

When the fan demanded his phone back, Kelce responded, “Who the f*** now?”

During a recent episode of “New Heights,” Kelce said he would address the incident again so people can move on.

“I am not happy with the situation. My reaction caught his attention and also brought publicity to the situation. That's what I regret, okay? It doesn't deserve any attention. It's really stupid, and if I just moved on, it's a damn nothing burger. Now it’s out there and it’s just perpetuating more hate, to be honest,” Kelce said.

“The word he used is just f—— ridiculous and it takes it to another level. It's just outlandish, f—— over the line, and it's dehumanizing. And it went down.” And it caused a reaction, and in the heat of the moment I thought, “Hey, what should I throw back at him because f— him.”

“I know now that I shouldn't have done that because now there's a video of me saying that word, him saying that word, and it's not good for anyone. I think what I really regret is that there is now a video that is very hateful that is now online and has been seen by millions of people. And I share the blame for it being passed on like that.”

Jason's brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, offered his support.

“I know it’s bothering you, brother. This sucks and you shouldn't feel this much. Obviously it's the scrutiny, the media likes the views on it and anyone who shares the videos that are out there, that's it. I think the situation is getting bigger than it really is. But in reality, a clown came up to you to talk about your family and you responded defensively, “Your family. And you may have used some words that you regret,” Travis said.

“And that’s a situation that you just have to learn from and embrace. And I think acknowledging them and talking about them shows how sincere you are to many people in this world. And that shows, especially what you said Monday night, that you've chosen not to f—— That's just not who you are, bro. I think you said that perfectly.

While Jason tries to move on, Penn State police are investigating the incident, a spokesman told The Associated Press.

The police incident log includes an entry from Saturday in which an “officer observed a visitor damaging personal property.”

PSU public information officer Jacqueline Sheader confirmed to The Associated Press on Tuesday that the incident involved Kelce and said the process was ongoing. Potential crimes listed in the report were criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
