The Sixers are looking for their second win of the season in Los Angeles against the Clippers

We made it! At least for a while, we can watch sporting events again without being subjected to the onslaught of political advertising. The only depressing thing we have to watch now is Sixers basketball (ba-dum-tss). Which, to be fair, looked much better in Paul George's team debut on Monday night in Phoenix. Philadelphia may have blown a late lead and lost twice to the Suns to drop to 1-5 on the season, but unsurprisingly things looked much more cohesive with a six-time All-NBA player on the team.

George showed some rust on Monday when he shot just 4 of 14 from the field, but you can bet he will be highly motivated to improve on that performance tonight in Los Angeles. As you may recall, PG left his home in LA because the Clippers pressured him in contract negotiations. They initially offered him just two years, $60 million, and then worked up to three years, $150 million, close to what Kawhi Leonard signed for, but didn't want to give George the no-trade clause he wanted if he took less it would be a maximum offer. Tonight will be his chance to show Steve Ballmer and Co. first-hand that they have made a huge mistake, as he is currently rated as likely.

Paul will not be joined by his new star teammate Joel Embiid, who will serve his three-game suspension tonight. The currently 3-4 Clippers will be without their own load management king with Kawhi Leonard out due to lingering inflammation in his surgically repaired knee. Some more familiar faces are also out for Los Angeles: Mo Bamba is out with a knee injury and PJ Tucker is out of the team until he realizes no one wants to give back his $11 million contract.

Speaking of which, the inclusion of Tucker in the James Harden trade was a masterful job by Daryl Morey. The system carries a heavy load as it is the only member of LA's Big 3 currently playing last year, averaging 21.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 9.9 assists. However, he also only shoots 38.1 percent from the field, including 29.5 percent from three, and averages 5.0 turnovers. We'll need to see more of a Paul George-era game to say for sure, but trading Harden and Tucker for expiring contracts (who were also helpful players) and clearing enough cap space for a max free agent wasn't possible went better from the Sixers' perspective.

Tonight we'll get our first up-close and personal look at The Wall at the newly constructed Intuit Dome. It certainly looks like a cool fan experience and it's nice that there's something that sets the Clippers' new arena apart from other places. I've always liked the aspect of baseball where each park has its own little quirks.

For the Sixers it is the second of three games in the West. We'll see if they can break their three-game losing streak and claim their elusive second win of the season.
