Is Macaulay Culkin's film Cabin Alone real?

Everyone calm down, Macaulay Culkin will do it not will return for another Home Alone film called Cabin Alone in 2024.

The internet went into a bit of an uproar when a fan created a poster – admittedly underwhelming – announcing a new Cabin Alone movie, but unfortunately that was all.

A fan named YODA BBY ABY made a poster showing Macaulay, now 44, in a Christmas sweater in a festive cabin with Catherine O'Hara as his mother, and wrote: “NEW HOME ALONE!!!” KEVIN AND HIS MOTHER!!!

“This Christmas, Kevin McCallister and his mother arrive early at their family's remote cabin, only to learn that the rest of the family's flight is delayed.

“When Marv and Harry set their sights on the supposedly empty cabin, Kevin and his mother band together to defend it in the ultimate showdown.”

“With snowy traps, outlandish pranks and high-risk holiday antics, they transform the tranquil cabin into a thrilling battlefield that will have you laughing and cheering.”

“Get ready for a wild vacation adventure with Cabin Alone, streaming on Disney+ this December!”

However, no official announcements or trailers have been released by Disney+ and the poster was entirely created by fans.

While Home Alone had a Home Sweet Home Alone reboot in 2021, there are no other projects in the works that we know of.

Cabin Alone wasn't meant to be this way, but that doesn't mean fans aren't trying to manifest a return to the popular Christmas franchise, as many commented on the poster with their Christmas wishes.

“There needs to be another Home Alone and Kevin is the father now!!” wrote fan Patricia Torrens, while Rachael Taylor added: “That sounds so wholesome it's a great idea.”

Others laughed at how crazy the internet was over the poster, while Alfie Jenner wrote: “The number of people falling for this is astounding.”

The original 1990 Home Alone film has become one of the most popular Christmas films of all time, grossing around $476 million (£367 million) at the global box office against a production cost of $18 million (£13.9 million).

Directed by Chris Columbus, Home Alone follows a troubled eight-year-old who is accidentally left home by his family over Christmas and must fend off two burglars who attempt to break into his home.

The success was followed in 1992 by Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, when Kevin accidentally boarded a plane to New York, where there are, you guessed it, burglars.

Home Alone 3 starred another boy, Alex Pruitt – played by Alex D. Linz – who was plagued by criminals, while Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House was a critical flop and French Stewart took on the role of Kevin.

In 2012, Home Alone: The Holiday Heist, starring Christian Martyn as Finn Baxter, was also not well received, nor was the Home Alone film, set in a vaguely similar universe to its predecessors , but essentially unrelated, has just a 15 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Ouch.

Child star Macaulay is currently touring the US with Home Alone, in a “nostalgic evening” with a screening of the original film and a question and answer session.
