Final score, highlights as Memphis takes the win

Ja Morant left with a right hamstring injury, but the Memphis Grizzlies celebrated a 131-114 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night at FedExForum.

The Grizzlies (5-4) built a lead in the third quarter thanks to 11 points from Jay Huff. Even after Morant left the game after a bad fall due to a missed alley-oop, Memphis continued to extend the lead and ultimately won with plenty of margin.

Los Angeles was without Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura, and there was very little from anyone not named LeBron James. The 39-year-old finished the game with 39 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Morant, Jaylen Wells and Jaren Jackson Jr. each had 20 points to lead the Grizzlies.

Memphis is back in action Friday night at home against the Wizards.

Morant took a bad fall on an alley-oop attempt and went straight to the locker room after the Grizzlies called a timeout.

Jay Huff gives Memphis a spark off the bench

Huff scored 11 points in the third quarter to help the Grizzlies take a double-digit lead.

James leads everyone with 22 points in the first half and it's been a lively game so far. Ja Morant had 13 points and also received a technical foul for shoving James after a basket late in the half.

Edey had his best game of his career against the Brooklyn Nets, but he started fast at the first timeout. He has four points and has already grabbed six rebounds in the early stages.

The Lakers will lose two starters as Davis and Hachimura are both unavailable. On the other hand, Luke Kennard is available for the first time this season.
