Hoboken City Council President Jen Giattino dies at 52

Jen Giattino, a four-term Hoboken City Council member and current City Council president, has died suddenly at the age of 52. Jen represented District 6 and was a long-time Hoboken community member. News of her death was announced on Tuesday, November 5, by Hoboken Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla, who expressed gratitude for Jen's service to the community.

Jen was a broker in the Hoboken office of Corcoran Real Estate and was proud to share the Hoboken community with others. “I love the place where I live,” she says, “and I want to help other families find their place here,” reads a statement on her biography. The same statement described her service on the City Council as a natural extension of her desire to serve and engage with the Hoboken community.

Jen and her husband Joe have three sons. In a statement on View of Hudson County, Joe said: “Jen’s unwavering commitment, kindness and passion have touched so many lives here in Hoboken. We are devastated by her loss and I ask for privacy for our family as we try to navigate this difficult time. Thank you for your understanding and for keeping Jen in your thoughts and prayers.”
