The Isle of Palms Police Department presents crime statistics for the year so far

ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCSC) – Community members, particularly business owners, on the Isle of Palms will take a look at crime over the past year at a meeting Thursday afternoon.

The Isle of Palms Police Department hosts its annual community meeting series to break down the previous year's crime data and detail prevention efforts.

Thursday's meeting is the second of three meetings. The purpose of these meetings is to show people which crimes are common this year and which have decreased.

According to police, driving under the influence charges increased from 86 in 2023 to 103 in 2024. There has also been an increase in crimes such as resisting arrest and assaulting officers.

This meeting will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Isle of Palms Public Safety Building at 30 JC Long Boulevard.
