The 103-year-old Quincy woman votes in the election

QUINCY, Fla. (WCTV) – A Quincy woman fulfilled the civic duty she has done for decades on Tuesday.

103-year-old Edna Mae Robinson voted on Tuesday, and it's a democratic right that she's happy to exercise!

“That's your right – choose!” said Robinson. “So that we can all be treated equally. We are all human. Vote for our rights.”

More good news:

This isn't the first time Robinson has participated in a landmark election. She also campaigned for Shirley Chisholm in 1972, who became the first African-American woman to run for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Chisholm's slogan at the time was “unbought and untamed,” a spirit that Edna clearly embodies.

To put this story in perspective, the Voting Rights Act was ratified in 1965, about 40 years after Edna was born.
