The multi-agency search for a suspect in the ENC ends

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An active search for a suspect has ended because police were unable to locate the person.

Greene County Sheriff Matt Sasser says more information will be released later today, but says they have been helping locate a person who failed to comply with commands in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon charge . Sasser says they weren't looking for anyone involved in a murder.

The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office, which assisted in the search, told WITN that it was assisting in locating a murder suspect.

An inter-agency search for a murder suspect is currently underway.

Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers tells WITN they are searching for a murder suspect in the area of ​​the Greene, Pitt and Lenoir County lines.

Rogers, who was in a helicopter involved in the search, says the search is currently taking place in the area of ​​Highway 903 and Edwards Church Road.

Matt Sasser of Greene County says they are helping the US Marshals Service catch a person who has warrants out for their arrest.
