We will not give in – our fight for justice is more urgent than ever

Yesterday's election results confirmed a crucial truth: our democracy and our hard-won rights are under attack. With Donald Trump poised to assume the presidency again, many of us are rightly concerned about an agenda that threatens to impede progress, deepen divisions and incite hatred, perhaps even to the point of violence. Many of us fear that the next government will be a platform for hate and turn people and communities against each other.

But let me be clear: our organization is ready for this moment and we will fight back with everything we have. We need you with us.

At this moment, our work to defend democracy, fight for diversity and inclusion, and resist hate has never been more urgent. The new administration will likely seek to dismantle the very systems that protect our right to vote, our ability to live in safety, and our right to a just future. We won't allow it.

Many view progress as linear. That's not it. If history teaches us anything, it is that it shows cycles of reform and retrenchment—particularly when it comes to civil rights and racial justice.

As we continue to be at the forefront of the fight for racial justice, we stand ready:

  • Defend democracy and protect the right to vote by challenging all attempts to suppress the voices of communities of color;
  • Protect and promote diversity, equity and inclusion in education, the workplace, economies and beyond;
  • Combat and dismantle structural racism both in government policy and private sector practice;
  • Combat white supremacist rhetoric and violence by bringing to justice those who incite and commit hateful acts.

Our mission is clear: We will fight back at every corner, in the courts, on the streets and in every community where justice is threatened. But we can't do it without you.

To defend the values we share, we need the support of committed partners like you more than ever. Together we will resist any attempt to destroy our democracy. Together we can help ensure that equality and justice are more than just ideals, but lived realities for all people, regardless of race, gender or identity.

Stand with us today and together we will protect the future we deserve.

In solidarity,
