Trial date set for man accused of killing teenage girl in Cape Girardeau CVS parking lot

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – A trial date has been set for the man accused of killing a teenage girl in the CVS parking lot in Cape Girardeau earlier this year.

According to online court records, Tre'marion Jones' jury trial will begin on January 7, 2025.

Jones is charged with first-degree murder and other charges after police say he shot and killed 17-year-old KeMari Childress in February.

Jones pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

The court scheduled the trial for Monday during Jones' latest court appearance. The trial is expected to last four days.
