Iota High goes into lockdown after teen is charged with making weapons threats

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – A teenager was arrested after he was accused of bringing a loaded magazine with a gun to Iota High School Thursday morning.

Authorities have not found a weapon, but the school is on lockdown until the search is completed, according to an update an Iota police officer posted on Facebook.

The student was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail, but charges have not yet been released.

The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police attended to assist Iota police.
