Man dies in crash on Highway 49 in Stone County

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) – A Laurel, Mississippi man is dead after a crash Monday afternoon in Stone County.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), 65-year-old Bruce Gavin was killed in the crash.

According to MHP, a 2021 Toyota Highlander driven by Gavin was traveling north on Highway 49 when it left the roadway and collided with several trees.

Gavin suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.

MHP is investigating the crash.
