Google leaks Jarvis AI in Chrome extensions but quickly deletes the new companion

It became known that Google is developing a new artificial intelligence unit that will provide users with a “companion,” and the initial rumors were later followed by a leak of Jarvis AI in Chrome’s Extensions store. The name does indeed sound familiar as it refers to the famous artificial intelligence butler of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, from Marvel Comics, with Google adopting the name as a real-life AI agent.

The previous leaks and rumors contain limited information about Jarvis AI, but it remains faithful to the popular AI assistant of the fictional world of superheroes, where it can perform tasks for its users without having to be commanded.

According to a report by The Information, several users have discovered a new AI program in Chrome's Extensions store, but it has not yet been officially unveiled by Google as it is called “Jarvis AI.” Apparently this wasn't intentional, and Google was responsible for accidentally leaking it to the public in early November, with the company quickly deleting all of its traces online.

It turned out that some users were able to download and install Jarvis AI on their Chrome browsers, but were unable to use it because it required several “access permissions” that prevented them from proceeding.

In October there were the first leaks about Google's Jarvis AI, which said that it will be an artificial intelligence agent that supports users in their daily tasks, but first learns from their activities and later automates them.

Jarvis AI will be the next AI companion for Chrome

Jarvis AI is poised to be Google's next AI “companion” that will be able to automate multiple web processes, such as: B. gathering information from the Internet, booking flights, purchasing items from online stores and more.

It has been revealed that this is still a codename and may not be the name it will receive after launch. Google plans to roll out Jarvis to users by December 2024. Additionally, Google will deploy a more “advanced” version of Gemini AI to power Jarvis and help users with their everyday tasks.

Google's AI developments and advancements

Google has now settled on who its AI will be. Gemini, the latest and most advanced technology available to all, is its popular model and current mainstay among its products and experiences. The recent I/O 2024 event revealed the huge improvement Gemini will deliver this year by offering renowned program integrations, upgrades to its knowledge base and wider availability.

Earlier this year, it was also announced that the company was integrating its artificial intelligence model directly into Google Search, introducing “AI overviews” that give users the nitty-gritty of the search engine. However, Google has had a push-and-pull relationship with AI Overviews due to its notorious flaws, with the latest feature bringing a different form of hallucination.

However, Google is still on the verge of deploying its many AI developments from DeepMind and other parts of the company and positioning itself as one of the top companies offering these advanced technologies. The next model to look out for is Jarvis AI as it can help provide automation to users directly in Chrome. However, Google apparently isn't ready just yet after it was accidentally leaked and then quickly deleted.
