State Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Bear – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred last night in Bear that left one man dead.

On November 6, 2024, at approximately 8:48 p.m., a blue 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling westbound on Pulaski Highway, east of Wellington Drive in Bear. At the same time, a pedestrian was walking in the westbound lanes of Pulaski Highway, in the same area as the Chevrolet. For an unknown reason, the pedestrian crossed into the path of the Chevrolet and was hit by the car.

The pedestrian, a 45-year-old man from Newark, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family and relatives are notified.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 22-year-old woman, and the two-month-old passenger, both of Newark, Delaware, were not injured.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Police ask anyone who witnessed this collision to contact Master Corporal M.
