Man with history of violence is accused of kidnapping women in Midtown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man with a violent history is facing new charges after he allegedly kidnapped two women in the Midtown area on the same day, according to reports.

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department investigated two incidents involving 38-year-old Thomas Winbush on October 30.

The first of the two incidents occurred at a bus stop in the area of ​​West End Avenue and 25th Avenue. The second case occurred at the McDonald's in the 1200 block of Broadway.

According to the two arrest reports, Winbush was accused by the women of assaulting them by grabbing their buttocks. He was arrested shortly after the McDonald's incident.

On November 5, Winbush was also charged with the earlier bus stop attack because the victim positively identified him. He faces two charges of sexual assault without consent.

Back in September 2020, Winbush was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to that arrest report, he allegedly stabbed the victim on the pedestrian bridge on Shelby Street.
