Chelsea set the Conference League record with an 8-0 win against FC Noah

Chelsea set a UEFA Conference League record with a comfortable 8-0 win over Armenian side FC Noah at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.

João Félix and Christopher Nkunku scored twice each for the Premier League club, who were six goals ahead at half-time. Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Axel Disasi and Mykhailo Mudryk scored the other goals to give Chelsea their biggest win in the competition's history.

The previous largest lead in the Conference League, which began in 2021, was six goals.

The result also equals the second-highest win in Chelsea's history. The club's biggest win remains a 13-0 triumph over Luxembourg side Jeunesse Hautcharage in 1971.

Chelsea are at the top of the League Phase standings in the Conference League with a maximum of nine points from three games.

“The players have once again shown how professional and serious they are,” Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca told reporters.

“It's easy to fall asleep or fall asleep during a game like this. Football is full of surprises. I asked them before the game to show how serious we are, how professional, and they showed that.”

The home crowd only had to wait until the 12th minute for the opening goal when Adarabioyo headed in a corner, before the second followed a minute later and Guiu intercepted a poor defensive pass before firing into the goal.

Another header from a corner came from Disasi after 18 minutes, and in the 21st minute Félix picked up a pass from Enzo Fernández and pushed his shot under the goalkeeper.

Six minutes before half-time, Mudryk curled a beautiful shot into the top corner, taking the score to five, and two minutes later Félix scored his second.

After six goals in the first half, Chelsea took their foot off the gas, but Frenchman Nkunku scored a brace, firing in a rebound after his initial shot was blocked in the 69th minute and converting a penalty seven minutes later.
