Susie Wiles becomes the first female White House chief of staff in history

Susie Wiles, a longtime GOP operative, will serve as President-elect Trump's White House chief of staff.

Wiles, who has largely stayed out of the spotlight, is widely praised for leading Trump's most disciplined and well-executed campaign.

During his victory celebration in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump specifically thanked Wiles for her outstanding role in the campaign.

“Let me also express my deep appreciation for Susie [Wiles] and Chris [LaCivita]at the work you did. “Susie, come on, Susie,” he said. “Susie likes to stay in the background, I tell you that.” The ice cream baby. We call her the ice baby. Susie likes to stay in the background. She is not in the background.

Trump described Wiles as “tough, smart, innovative” and said she was “universally admired and respected.”

He noted her role as the first female chief of staff in U.S. history and said, “I have no doubt that she will make our country proud.”

Veteran GOP strategist John Brabender told Fox News Digital: “If you've looked all over the world, there's no better choice than Susie Wiles to be White House chief of staff.”

When it comes to Wiles, Brabender said, “No one will have a better relationship with the president who understands that she is there to help him in any way she can and he will respect that.”

“Susie will have no other intention than to help the president, to help the people,” emphasized Brabender. And he noted that “everyone who works for Susie in the White House will be vetted by Susie, which means there will only be the best.”

Wiles is a longtime Republican strategist from Florida who ran Trump's campaigns in the state in 2016 and 2020. His decades-long political career dates back to his work as a campaign planner for former President Reagan for his 1980 presidential bid.

Wiles also managed Rick Scott's campaign for governor of Florida in 2010 and briefly served as manager of former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman's 2012 presidential campaign.

Wiles currently serves as a senior adviser to Trump and is campaign co-chair alongside Chris LaCivita.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was previously considered a possible candidate for chief of staff, but recently told “The Guy Benson Show” that he would not accept the position if it were offered to him.
