Fallout Season 2 Casts Macaulay Culkin as “Mad Genius Type Character” – Report

The highly anticipated second season of Fallout on Prime Video has just added another big name to the cast.

According to a Deadline report on Thursday, Macaulay Culkin is set to join the second season of the video game adaptation in a recurring role. Details are a bit sketchy, but according to the article, he'll “play a crazy, genius character.” IGN has reached out to Prime Video for more details.

Culkin joins a cast that also includes Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Xelia Mendes-Jones and Walton Goggins. As the report notes, Culkin, who of course rose to fame as a child star in Home Alone, has previously worked with Prime Video and voiced a character in the animated series The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy.

Culkin's reported cast is one of the few pieces of information we've received about Season 2, which was quickly ordered after Fallout became a huge hit for Prime Video. According to Amazon's own figures, the show attracted an incredible 65 million viewers in its first 16 days, making it the second most-watched show on Prime Video. It also sparked renewed interest in the gaming series, with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella saying earlier this year that it had led to a nearly fivefold increase in hours played for the franchise on Game Pass.

We don't know exactly when we'll be able to see Culkin and his crazy, genius character in Season 2. Showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner previously assured fans that they are “moving as quickly as possible” with the release of season two, so hopefully it won't take too long.

In the meantime, you can read IGN's 9/10 review of the first season, in which Matt Purslow wrote: “A bright and fun apocalypse full of dark punchlines and bursts of extreme violence, Fallout is among the best video game adaptations ever made.”
