Melville child therapist accused of distributing child pornography

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, 36-year-old Renee Hoberman of Plainview used social media messaging apps to share photos and videos of suspected child pornography.

According to court documents, Hoberman, who also goes by the first name Rina, works as a pediatric therapist at Lifestance Health in Melville. The location offers psychological care for people from infancy to 17 years of age.

Officials say a Facebook profile that appears to be Hoberman says she also works as a consultant at South Oaks Hospital in Amityville. Northwell says she hasn't worked there since 2021.

Her profile also states that she is a social worker at Vincent Smith School in Port Washington, a private school that specializes in dyslexia and other non-behavioral learning disorders.

News 12 has reached out to all three employers and is waiting to hear back.

Federal officials say these allegations continued from June until last week.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says anyone with information should contact Homeland Security Investigations.
