The death of a woman found with an uninjured child in her car was likely homicide, according to Vancouver police

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV) – After a woman was found dead in a car next to a live child in Vancouver last week, police said Thursday that the woman's death was likely murder.

Early on the morning of November 1, police responded to the 300 block of North Blandford Drive for a report of a body in a car. They found the woman dead and a “small child” with her in the car who “did not appear to be physically injured,” police said at the time.

On Thursday, Vancouver Police Department detectives said they were investigating the woman's death as a homicide and said the child was safe and being cared for by family members.

The woman is 31-year-old mother of three, Courtney Clinton of Portland.

According to the medical examiner's office, Clinton died of cuts to her neck. The coroner also said it was “unknown” where she was injured.
