Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase among 2 winners and 5 losers vs. Ravens

The Cincinnati Bengals put on a tremendous battle on Thursday night when they took on the Baltimore Ravens and left with a heartbreaking 35-34 loss.

It was a good night for some and a tough night for others in a game this team really needed but unfortunately couldn't manage.

Here are the winners and losers of the Week 10 contest.

winner

Yes'Marr Chase

Chase just has great games against the Ravens. After a relatively quiet first half, Chase did what he always seems to do and caught a pass 67 yards out to reward himself. Five Ravens were around Chase, and it just didn't matter. In the 4th quarter, after Baltimore took the lead of the game for the first time, Chase hauled in a deep ball from Burrow for a 70-yard touchdown, giving the stadium some breathing room. Chase finished the game with 11 receptions for 264 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately it wasn't enough.

Joe Burrow

When he returned to Baltimore, where he lost his 2023 season due to a wrist injury, Burrow appeared normal and calm again. He climbed through the pocket well all night, made good decisions on the run and took advantage of what the defense gave him. He threw for 428 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions despite being hit and driven into the turf virtually all night.

loser

Chase Brown

The Bengals had all the momentum until Brown fumbled in the third quarter. From there, the floodgates opened for Baltimore, and the defense just couldn't get it done. A fumble of their own turned the game completely in Baltimore's favor. The young running back will recover, but the impact of the fumble cannot be ignored.

Zac Taylor

Taylor with a lead is just scary at this point. In two separate 3rd and 4th and short situations we saw deep shots downfield. Taylor apparently grew tired of hearing about screens in the fourth round and switched to low punches. The fourth down play in the fourth quarter led directly to the go-ahead touchdown for Baltimore. At some point it will be up to your head coach and game manager. This game ended with two bad 4th down calls and a play designed for Tanner Hudson to win the game.

Cam Taylor Britt

Taylor-Britt started strongly but had an extremely difficult first half. A missed open field tackle on Tylan Wallace set him free for an 84-yard touchdown pass. With 5:26 left in the fourth quarter, he dropped what should have been an easy interception. With 1:49 left in the 4th quarter, Taylor-Britt was hit by Rashod Bateman, giving Baltimore the go-ahead score. The momentum in the second half turned them from winners to losers on Thursday.

Lou Anarumo's entire defense

After a phenomenal first half, we experienced a complete collapse in the second half. The offense certainly didn't do them any favors with fumbles and blown conversions, but the defense needs to be able to step up and bail them out at some point. This defense has struggled with failures all season, and it showed again tonight. When multiple players miss tackles, you have to look at the guy leading the defense.

Evan McPherson

It definitely feels like the coaching staff has lost confidence in McPherson. In years past, we saw them send McPherson for a 56-yard field goal almost without hesitation. On Thursday, they missed that chance several times due to a failed 4th-down conversion. It's clear this team no longer has as much confidence in McPherson as it did before the 2024 season.
