A 42-year-old Orlando woman is charged with murder after her roommate disappeared on Christmas Day 2022

A Florida woman has been accused of murdering her roommate who disappeared on Christmas Day nearly two years ago.

Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, was charged with second-degree murder, tampering with evidence and grand larceny after Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, also 42, went missing.

Her body still hasn't been found.

According to the Orlando Police Department, Medina-Pachecho was reported missing on December 27, 2022.

At the time, Victoria-Gonzalez, who contacted OPD, said she hadn't seen her roommate since Christmas.

However, as the investigation continued, investigators discovered numerous inconsistencies in Victoria-Gonzalez's version of events. A search warrant was executed at her home, which resulted in key evidence being recovered indicating that a violent incident had occurred.

After an extensive investigation involving multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, investigators determined that Victoria-Gonzalez resided in Hartford, Connecticut.

After traveling to Hartford and conducting another interview with her, investigators developed probable cause to charge Victoria-Gonzalez.

Footage of the arrest showed Victoria-Gonzalez wearing a red dress being led through a corridor by officers. No further information was provided regarding the circumstances of Medina-Pachecho's disappearance.

In a news release, OPD said, “We would like to thank the Hartford Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.”
