5 found dead in Minnesota, apparent murder-suicide: police

Police in Duluth, Minnesota are currently conducting an active investigation after discovering the deaths of five people in two separate homes in West Duluth around 2:10 p.m. Thursday

A news release states that Duluth police responded to a 911 call in the 6000 block of Tacony Street and discovered a 47-year-old woman and a dead juvenile.

After an investigation, they were able to identify a suspect who was located at a residence in the 4400 block of West 6th Street.

The police officers managed to gain entry to the house, where they found the suspect, a 46-year-old man, another 45-year-old woman and a teenager who had apparently died from gunshot wounds. According to police officials, the suspect also died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police believe the victims are known to each other but have not released their names at this time pending notification of next of kin.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of the victims involved in this tragic event. This incident remains under active investigation,” the release said. “There will probably be a press conference tomorrow. Further details will be announced at a later date.”
