Seneca Valley student charged in water bead gun incident – Butler Eagle

A Seneca Valley School District student was accused of threatening another student the following week with a battery-operated gun that fires water-based gel pellets and molesting the same student.

Jackson Township police have charged Isaiah I. Edwards-Hickman, 18, of Cranberry Township, with negligent harassment and gross disorderly conduct following an Oct. 30 incident and negligent harassment following a Nov. 4 incident. According to police, both incidents occurred at the middle school.

The school principal contacted police on October 30 after it was discovered that a student was in possession of the weapon. According to the affidavit, Edwards-Hickman told a principal that the victim had been pushing and shoving him and that he had brought the gun to intimidate him.

The victim reported that Edwards-Hickman confronted him and fired the gun, making a popping sound. The incident was recorded on a surveillance camera, police said.

On Nov. 4, the district's dean of students called police and said Edwards-Hickman had threatened the same victim again despite being warned to stop contact with the victim and named in the Oct. 30 incident, according to an affidavit had been.

The victim reported that Edwards-Hickman held his cell phone to mimic holding a handgun and pretended to shoot the victim. Police said that incident was also captured on camera and Edwards-Hickman admitted his involvement, police said.

Preliminary hearings for both cases are scheduled for Nov. 27 before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz.

The district chief did not respond seeking comment.
