Lottery player from Windsor Locks buys nearly $100,000 worth of lucky ticket

EAST GRANBY, CT – A small investment in a CT Lottery Fast Play progressive game paid off handsomely for a Windsor Locks player who recently bagged a prize of more than $95,000.

The lucky winner, who wished to remain anonymous, received a $95,465 payout for a Fast Play – $5 Stacks of CA$H Progressive ticket purchased at the Pride Station on Route 20 in East Granby. According to CT Lottery, the winnings were claimed on Friday.

Fast Play Progressive Jackpots start with a set minimum value. Once the minimum jackpot is reached, it grows with each ticket sold nationwide until someone wins. The progressive jackpot is then reset to the minimum value and grows again.

The ticket price paid determines the percentage of the progressive jackpot that can be won. For example, a $1 ticket wins 20 percent of the progressive jackpot; a $2 ticket wins 40 percent of the progressive jackpot; and a $5 ticket wins 100 percent of the progressive jackpot.

The CT Lottery regularly posts winnings of $10,000 or more as a public record.
