Woman in Concord Mills bathroom films suspected peeping Tom

CONCORD, NC (WBTV) – A woman using a bathroom stall in Concord Mills caught an alleged “Peeping Tom” this week in the act.

Concord police said their cellphone video helped police identify the suspect, 29-year-old Joshua Edward Stinson, who had previously been banned from the mall.

According to police, Stinson was arrested shortly after the incident while walking near the mall.

“I'm trying to stay more aware, especially these days when I see things like this,” said a Concord Mills shopper. “I know it can happen.”

The victim's video shows a man standing in front of her bathroom stall while she was inside. As the suspect is about to leave the room, she leaves the stand and tries to take a clear video of him.

Another shopper said it was commendable how the victim handled the scary situation.

“Assuming she didn't report it, the same bastard could have shown up again,” she said. “If you report this to the police, they want evidence. This camera, this phone was the best thing she could have had at such a time.”

WBTV asked Concord Mills why Stinson was permanently banned. Mall officials have not yet responded.

According to police, Stinson is being held without bail in the Cabarrus County Jail.
