Colorado Springs drivers asked to stay off the roads during plowing operations in the city

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado Springs city officials say this is the worst start to the snow season they've seen in recent years and are urging people to stay off the roads so plows can do their work.

This is because heavier snowfall is expected across the city in the next few days, which will lead to more slush. There are cases where three to four plows operate in tandem on major roads such as Academy, Powers, Woodman and Platte.

The city administration is asking people to work from home if possible. They are specifically asking people to stay off the roads during morning and evening rush hours so that plows don't get stuck in traffic.

Plowing work in the city is expected to be completed sometime Saturday when the snow stops falling.
