Dry and windy weather increases the risk of fire spread on Long Island; Wet weather is coming this weekend

Dry weather and the development of gusty winds can lead to rapid spread of fires. A fire warning was issued today. Be careful with open flames. There will be some wet weather over the weekend. At the moment the showers appear to be lighter, with half an inch or less of rain. A brief cold snap will result in some frost Sunday morning.
