Al Michael is angry about two missed calls in the decisive Bengals-Ravens game

Al Michaels had enough of directing Thursday night's Ravens-Bengals thriller.

Amazon's play-by-play man vented his frustration after the Ravens came away with two penalties on the Bengals' game-winning two-point attempt in the fourth quarter while trailing 35-34.

First, rules analyst Terry McAulay, a 20-year former NFL official and three-time Super Bowl referee, explained how they screwed up missing penalties on quarterback Joe Burrow and tight end Mike Gesicki.

“It was clearly a defensive hold (against Gesicki) before the pass went into the air. It should have been called, and this actually looks like forceful contact with the quarterback's head. That makes it tough on the passer,” McAulay said, while a replay showed Ravens defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike grabbing Burrow’s facemask.

Michaels wasn't happy about it.

“Too many games end like this. That’s just what they do,” he said. “You miss calls – the whole thing. It’s so frustrating… so frustrating.”

Two weeks ago — in another Amazon game that Michaels called — the Vikings' chance at a comeback was squandered by a clear Rams faceguard on Sam Darnold that was missed by the refs.

Instead, it was a safety that secured Los Angeles the win.

The Bengals scored two goals late as they tried to win the game.

Burrow failed to reach tight end Tanner Hudson on this attempt and threw his pass a little too high.

The game was over for the Bengals when the Ravens recovered the onside kick and secured the one-point victory in the intense back-and-forth game between the AFC North rivals.

The Ravens rallied after the Bengals took a 21-7 lead in the third quarter.
