Naked man was arrested in Calera on Friday morning after houses and vehicles were damaged

CALERA, Ala. (WBRC) – Calera police arrested a naked man covered in blood early Friday morning.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., police received a call from a homeowner in Camden Cove who said a naked man was damaging vehicles and homes.

Chief David Hyche said additional calls were received reporting the man in another part of the neighborhood. The police were able to find him, he was naked and covered in blood.

Hyche said the man approached an officer and ignored commands. The suspect was tasered and arrested.

According to Hyche, he admitted to being under the influence of a controlled substance. The police arrested the man and took him to the hospital.

There are at least 18 people with damage to their homes, cars and other property. Anyone who has any damage that may have been caused by the suspect is asked to call Calera police at the telephone number (205)668-3505.
