Hartselle man charged with poisoning wife files motion to have bail condition lifted

HARTSELLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A Hartselle man accused of poisoning his wife in 2022 filed a new motion Thursday asking for a condition of his bail to be lifted, according to court documents obtained by WAFF .

Brian Mann, a chiropractor from Hartselle, is requesting not to report to the Morgan County Jail every weekend, court documents show.

Mann was arrested in 2022 and charged with attempted murder.

For over a year, Mann has been out on bail during the week on the condition that he take himself to prison every weekend.

In the newly filed motion, Mann's attorney, Chad Morgan, states that Mann is also allowed to leave the house on weekends.

Morgan said Mann followed all court orders and continued to demonstrate that he was not a flight risk.

Court documents indicate Mann was scheduled to appear in court for a settlement hearing, but it was continued until March 2025 despite Morgan's objections.
