It may seem like Sabrina Carpenter is a new artist based on her breakout performance this year, but Short n' Sweet is her sixth album. And these are her first Grammy nominations.

Daniel Radcliff at the Grammys? The “Harry Potter” actor starred in “Merrily We Roll Along” on Broadway alongside Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez. It was nominated in the Best Musical Theater Album category.

When the acclaimed show ended this summer, Radcliff told USA TODAY, “I couldn't have asked for anything more” about his role in the Stephen Sondheim revival.

Jack Antonoff has won this the last three years and had he been nominated and won in 2025, he would have been the first to do so four times in a row. But it seems Grammy voters wanted a different name this year.

The five nominees in the songwriter of the year, non-classical category are behind some of the biggest hits of the year.

They are:

Jessi Alexander (“Remember Him That Way” Luke Combs)

Amy Allen (“Espresso” Sabrina Carpenter)

Edgar Barrera (“Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” Karol G)

Jessie Jo Dillon (“Sorry Mom” Kelsea Ballerini)

RAYE (“RIIVERDANCE” Beyoncé)

Amy Allen definitely has an ear for pop songs. She has worked with Harry Styles a few times and was part of his 2023 Album of the Year winner for “Harry's House” as a co-writer on “Matilda.”

This is also Raye's first Grammy nomination. Last year, when her 2023 album “My 21st Century Blues” was overlooked, she said she wasn’t upset at all because she “barely scratched the surface” of her career. And here we are.

Gayle King attended the show and said: “We all remember Tracy Chapman and Luke Combs” from last year, she said.

The Grammy nominations stream today at 11 a.m. ET on Grammy.com.

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. spoke to USA TODAY last night and remarked several times that he was “so proud” of the work the 13,000 voting members did with the nominees this year. They are chosen by members of the Recording Academy, which includes songwriters, composers, musicians, producers, engineers and more. The trend he sees is “excellence, regardless of genre.”

We are very pleased that you asked. Only works published between September 16, 2023 and August 30, 2024 can be submitted.

The Recording Academy received an incredible 20,000 entries across 94 categories.
