“I love the feel of the show and also the cast and crew have all grown together as a family,” he said. “It's really wonderful that we all consider each other a family now. It's one of my favorite experiences and I love the show.

“I love playing Doc Mullins because I've played a lot of doctors and I've done a lot of research on country doctors who work in small towns where you know all your patients. It's a different way of connecting with the people you serve.

“When you walk down the street you see them; you see them at the bar at night. It's really a different kind of medicine. This is the story of a man who left the big city to return to treating his patients in person, and I love that.”
