What the Bengals said after losing to the Ravens on “Thursday Night Football.”

Head coach Zac Taylor

On the team's performance in the second half:

“We lost the turnover battle 1-0. I think that was great. It was 21-7 at that point when we gave them seven points right off the fumble, they had the big play, and then it kind of went back and forth from there. [The Ravens] We're just a good football team, but we expected to come here and win. We did everything we could to make this happen. … We're also on the way to becoming a good team, and it's shocking that that happened to us twice. This is it.”

On Ja'Marr Chase's 264 yards and three touchdowns:

“Incredible. That's a good defense. They have a lot of talent there. I thought, Ja’Marr.” [Chase] Whenever we could find a way to get him the ball, we improved tremendously, [and] I thought [Joe Burrow] did great. Ja'Marr completed all of these pieces for us.

On Joe Burrow, who had 13 quarterback hits:

“It’s a really talented defense. If you throw the ball that many times, it’s going to happen.” [Joe Burrow] does a great job of buying time until the end to give his guys a chance.”

If he knew the Bengals would bet on two:

“Yes. There's a time situation where I can't go into detail, but there's a chance you might get a three-pointer, get the ball back when you were just tied, and then kick a play–” It didn't feel like that , as if we were going to get the ball again.
