Lynn Haven man arrested for aggravated child abuse

LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A Lynn Haven man has been arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse.

According to the Lynn Haven Police Department, officers received information from the Gulf Coast Advocacy Center about a situation in which a child was allegedly being physically abused.

Subsequent interviews were conducted by the Department of Children and Families, the Gulf Coast Advocacy Center and the Lynn Haven Police Department.

Police said the child gave statements that were corroborated by physical evidence that led to the identification of the suspect.

As a result of the investigation, law enforcement said Mason Alexander Commerce was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse.

Lynn Haven Police Chief Ricky Ramie said he wanted to thank the Tyndall Air Force Base Office of Special Investigations (OSI) and the Gulf Coast Advocacy Center for their valuable assistance in this important case.
