A Mexican man was arrested and accused of firing a gun at a vehicle following a road rage incident

A man was arrested for allegedly firing a gun in a traffic accident on November 7th.

The Mexican Department of Public Safety (MPSD) responded to South Clark Street near Highway 54 on Thursday for a reported disturbance involving a weapon.

According to a press release, two vehicles passed each other several times on the highway or attempted to overtake each other.

As the first vehicle came to a stop at the stop sign, the driver of the second vehicle, Jessie L. Deere, 42, of Auxvasse, pulled up behind them.

The victim reported that Deere got out of his car, fired a gun in the air and then fired at her vehicle before fleeing the scene.

MPSD reported finding the suspect in the 2700 block of South Clark Street, where he was taken into custody.

Deere was booked into the Audrain County Jail and charged with first-degree harassment, unlawful use of a weapon – exhibition, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon – shooting at a person.
