Grammys 2025 nomination list: Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar lead

Beyoncé continues her reign as queen of the Grammys: She leads the 2025 awards ceremony with eleven nominations and even wins in all four country categories with her historic award Cowboy Carter Album.

Beyoncé is nominated for Album of the Year and Best Country Album, while her No. 1 country hit “Texas Hold 'Em” is nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Country Song is nominated. Her other nominations include Best Country Solo Performance for “16 Carriages,” Best Country/Duo Performance for “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus and Best Americana Performance for “Ya Ya.”

With 99 career nominations, she now breaks the tie with her husband Jay-Z, who has now received 89 nominations, including one for Album of the Year as co-writer of several awards Cowboy Carter songs. Beyoncé is the most decorated artist in Grammy history with 32 wins and could finally win the trophy for her first album of the year next year.

However, she has competition. Taylor Swift, the first artist to win album of the year four times, is nominated The Tortured Poets DepartmentThis makes her the first woman to receive seven awards in this category. Other nominees are: Hit me hard and soft by Billie Eilish – the first artist to have her first three albums compete for the top prize – Sabrina Carpenter's Short and sweetCharli XCXs bratChappell Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern PrincessAndre 3000 New blue sun and Jacob Colliers Djesse Vol. 4.

Eilish, Charli Swift, Carpenter and Roan each received six nods.

Beyoncé and Lamar's songs for record of the year include “Fortnight” by Swift and Malone, “Espresso” by Carpenter, “Birds of a Feather” by Eilish, “360” by Charli XCX and “Good Luck, Babe!” by Roan. and the Beatles' final song, “Now and Then.”

The songs by Beyoncé, Lamar, Swift, Eilish and Roan also compete for song of the year – alongside “Please Please Please” by Carpenter, “Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars and “A Bar Song” by Shaboozey Songwriter's Award (Tipsy),” which spends its 16th week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Shaboozey is also nominated for Best New Artist alongside Carpenter, Roan, Benson Boone, Teddy Swims, Raye, Doechii and Khruangbin. Shaboozey, who got a boost after appearing in two performances Cowboy Carter Tracks, is nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance for his guest appearance on Beyoncé's “Spaghetti.” Country music pioneer Linda Martell, the first black woman to perform on the Grand Ole Opry, also appears on the song and receives her first Grammy nominations.

Other first-time nominees include Carpenter, Kim Gordon, Willow, Pete Rock and Morgan Wallen, who received two country nominations for his performance on Malone's No. 1 hit “I Need Some Help.” Malone also received a nomination for best pop duo/group performance for “Levii's Jeans” with Beyoncé.

Beyoncé's nominations in the country and American roots categories extend her genre-rich career at the Grammys, as she has won awards in R&B, rap, pop and dance. She even received a Rock nomination at the 2017 show. She received her five country and American roots awards two months after being rejected from the CMA Awards, where she received no nominations. She was also rejected by the Grammys' country committee when they rejected “Daddy Lessons,” her strident 2016 song lemonade.

Months after female acts won every televised award at the 2024 Grammys, women continue to dominate nominees next year in key categories such as Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album include Swift, Eilish, Carpenter, Roan and Ariana Grande, who receives her sixth nod in the category Eternal sunshineequaling a record set by Kelly Clarkson.

And while no woman has ever been named Producer of the Year (Non-Classical), Alissia is nominated this year – her first female nomination in six years. She faces Dan Nigro, Mustard, Dernst “D'Mile” Emile II and Ian Fitchuk.

The 2025 Grammys will be broadcast live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2nd. The final vote will take place from December 12th to January 3rd. The nominations for the top categories for 2025 will follow. Click here for a full list of 2025 Grammy nominations.
