A man has been charged with a fatal stabbing during a fight on Cleveland's West Side, police said

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A 22-year-old man is accused of fatally stabbing a Cleveland man Monday on the city's West Side, police said.

Christian Beaton was charged with murder in Cleveland Municipal Court. He is being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail on $1 million bail.

Authorities say Beaton, of Cleveland, stabbed 54-year-old Carlos D. Roldan multiple times on West 48th Street near Eichorn Avenue in the Stockyards neighborhood.

Police said Beaton and Roldan were arguing before the stabbing. Someone dropped Roldan off at MetroHealth and police were called. Roldan was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

Beaton was arrested after the incident near Fulton and Denison, police said.

Cleveland police have investigated at least 92 murders so far. At the same time last year, 142 homicides were recorded.
