Omaha man arrested in connection with child exploitation in South Carolina

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A man wanted in connection with an ongoing child exploitation investigation in South Carolina was arrested by Nebraska State Patrol investigators in Omaha this week.

Luis Romero, 36, of Omaha, faces nine charges in South Carolina: three counts of distribution of obscene material to a person under 18 years of age; three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor; and three counts of solicitation of a minor.

According to the NSP on Friday, Romero was arrested Wednesday morning and taken to the Douglas County Jail. Investigators with the NSP Tech Crimes Unit made the arrest after being contacted by the Anderson County, S.C., Sheriff's Office, which said they believed their suspect was in Omaha.

Homeland Security investigators also assisted in the search and arrest of Romero.
