Videos have been circulating on social media for several weeks showing the Baba being lifted on a chair to a ceiling fan, which he holds with his bare hands and then blesses the men holding the chair.

In his video, Dhawan sits on a chair while three men lift him up, and two others are seen shaking and imitating Pankha Baba's devotees. Following in Baba's footsteps, Dhawan raises his hand to stop the rotating fan, then takes his fingers and rubs them across his devotee's forehead. The trembling men calm down as they are “healed” by Dhawan’s touch.

“Fan waale Baba ki jai ho,” he captioned the video, which has a whopping 57 million views on Instagram.

Who is Laddu Muthya?

Many believe that Laddu Muthya was a disabled man who ran away from home at a young age and came to Bagalkote in Karnataka to become a saint and help the needy. It is said that he lived in the city for 20 years, blessing people and begging for alms.

Devotees believe that the saint was blessed with divine power and that prosperity reigned wherever he went. Believers say that if he visited someone's home, he would be blessed with a sudden financial gain, or if he stopped by a store, his business would grow.

After witnessing his so-called miraculous powers, people started calling him “Laddu Muthya Avatar” as his name and influence grew in the region and many temples were built for him. According to reports, Laddu Muthya died in 1993 and the Baba seen in the viral reels is not actually Laddu Muthya but one of the priests of the temple dedicated to him.
