The Dallas Cowboys plan to place QB Dak Prescott on injured reserve

The initial diagnosis was that Prescott would be out for several weeks. Placing Prescott on injured reserve means he would miss at least four games.

Prescott suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to Atlanta. Prescott said he strained his Achilles tendon in a scramble. He thought the leg was getting better, but after attempting a pass a few plays later, he felt it again.

With Prescott out, backup quarterback Cooper Rush will start Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
