Security guard accused of shooting man with warrant in apartment complex

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A security guard is in jail after a shooting Friday.

Rickey Hines is charged with attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and vandalism of property.

According to police, Hines was a security guard at an apartment complex on East Red Oaks Street.

A man entered the complex and Hines discovered the man had warrants and attempted to arrest him.

However, the man drove away and police said Hines began shooting at the man as he drove away.

The man was struck and taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

He was released and then taken to the Shelby County Jail.
