Could the Eagles get the Ravens Pro Bowler after surprisingly passing on him?

The Philadelphia Eagles could still use some reinforcement on the sideline and a former Pro Bowler is now available after being waived by the Baltimore Ravens.

Baltimore brought in former Pro Bowler Yannick Ngakoue, who appeared in five games with the team. During that stretch, he recorded 1.5 sacks, five tackles and four quarterback hits. Although he was productive, the Ravens waived him on Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

“According to source, the Ravens are waiving (defensive side) Yannick Ngakoue,” Schefter said. “The Ravens intend to re-sign him to their practice squad should he clear waivers.”

Philadelphia was inactive before the trade deadline, but signing Ngakoue could be a great move. There weren't too many options available that made it worth forgoing capital projects before the deadline. Ngakoue was available without having to give up draft picks and could give Philadelphia some needed depth.

The Eagles have won four games in a row and face an important matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. If Philadelphia is able to defeat the Cowboys, it will be 7-2 on the season despite starting the year with a 2-2 record.

There's a lot to like about this Eagles team, and adding someone like Ngakoue to the mix might just help. He was productive with the Ravens. Ngakoue had four sacks with the Chicago Bears last season and had 9.5 sacks with the Indianapolis Colts in 2022. He's someone who still has something left in the tank and the Eagles should lay claim to him,
