Dewayne Dietz was arrested on suspicion of murder in a fatal shooting in Denver

A 19-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of murder following a fatal shooting Sunday near Denver's city park.

Dewayne Dietz was identified as a suspect on surveillance footage and was arrested for investigation of first-degree murder, second-degree murder and aggravated robbery, Denver police said in a news release.

At approximately 12:41 a.m. Sunday, Denver officers responded to reports of a shooting in an alley between the 1400 block of Columbine Street and the 1400 block of Josephine Street, south of East Colfax Avenue, police said in the news release.

The alley is located on the northern edge of Denver's Congress Park neighborhood, near City Park.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Investigators believe the shooting was a robbery at a nearby business.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will release the victim's identity at a later date.
