Two Charlotte County men charged with murder after distributing deadly fentanyl

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Two men have been indicted by the Charlotte County Grand Jury in unrelated cases involving the distribution of fentanyl resulting in death.

Scott Kyle Wright was charged with first-degree murder, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance – fentanyl, a felony, sale or delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance, and unlawful use of a controlled substance Substance charged. The indictment states, in part, that between April 5, 2024 and April 6, 2024, Wright unlawfully killed the victim in Charlotte County by unlawfully distributing a controlled substance, namely fentanyl, and said controlled substance. or a mixture thereof, caused or materially contributed to the death of the victim.

The second indictment is against Robert Anthony Doxen for first degree murder, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance – fentanyl, a felony, sale or delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance, and unlawful use of a controlled substance -way communication device.

The indictment alleges, among other things, that on or about July 29, 2023, in Charlotte County, Doxen unlawfully killed the victim through the unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, namely fentanyl, and that said controlled substance was a material factor therefor was or was in causing the death of the victim.
